What is Extension? Each state has a land grant university system. Mississippi State is part of the land grant system and has the responsibility to extend research accomplished at the university to those in the state that can't come to the university.
What is Extension? To bring the knowledge to you, MSU Extension has a network of county offices throughout Mississippi. Each county has Extension faculty and staff who serve local clientele with information on many topics: agriculture family and consumer sciences • economic and community resource development • 4-H/youth development

What is Extension? Extension Forestry faculty are part of the MSU Department of Forestry and serve forestry clientele in Mississippi by conducting forestry educational programs, writing publications answering questions from Extension agents, foresters, loggers, and landowners

Workshops - more intensive, hands-on training in specific subjects. Allows landowners to actively participate extending the learning experience from the classroom to actual field activities. County Forestry Association meetings and Field Days There are currently 65 County Forestry Associations (CFAs) involving 73 counties in Mississippi.
