Invocation – Dave Hunter We thank Thee, Lord, for this food, which really helps our mood. And all the blessings we receive, dear Lord, from Thee. Amen. Vittles – Chicken Cordon Bleu, mixed vegetables, salad and toppings, rolls and Flan, tea and coffee.
Attendance – 19 members. Guests – none. Birthdays – Ted Gonsiorowski and Rex Hess in July.

Lottery – Paul Kunkel won the $11 lottery. (Note to bucket carriers: Please stand on the other side of your recipient/payee so we get a better view.)
Announcements – The Lions Brass Tree Marker will be placed under the tree planted at the Windsor of Savoy.
Open house for Camp Lions will be held on July 27th. Our Board meeting will be held Tuesday, July 17th. Officers induction will be July 18th. Lions International focus for 2012-13 is “reading.” Don’t forget to make a tax-deductible donation to the Champaign Lions Charities Foundation when you send your next Dues check.
Program – Charlie Osborne introduced Emily Evans, the young lady who won a trip to Honduras, sponsored by Lions Clubs. She is a student at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
The program sent 101 students/spouses and 13 staff doctors to all the countries involved, including Mexico, Belize, and other countries.
They traveled to several towns to make it easier for the people to have access.
There were 7,514 patients. The program gave out 6,298 glasses, 997 sunglasses, and 575 referrals for cataracts and gloucoma. The local Lions Club provided their meals.
Sunglasses are important because there is much more direct sunlight and that causes abnormal growths over the cornea.
Tail Twister – Ted Gonsiorowski asked Jay Hoeflinger to carry the bucket.
himself for not notifying the board members of the meeting reschedule;
David Lin for missing all those meetings while he was traveling. Then David bragged about his 16 year old daughter getting her driver’s liscense.
He auctioned some beets grown by Dave Hunter. (Previously thought unbeetable.)
Rex Hess bought Dave’s beets in a very complicated financial transaction.
GordieGordon bragged about his grandson visiting from Korea.
Coming up July 18 – Next Week: Wednesday, July 18, 2012; Installation of Officers and Business Meeting. Greeters: Karl Drake and Frank Duff
