  1. DECA State Conference Parent Night February 4th, 2014

  2. General Info • February 22–25 (missing 2 days of school) • Over 3000 total competitors • Conference held at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs • Staying at Cheyenne Mountain Resort

Each suite has bathroom, 2 queen size beds, . 1 refrigerator, 1 TV • Hot-tub (bring swimsuit) • Students will be assigned to “small groups” • Small group officers and chaperones are go-to people if you need anything • Buses transport between the Cheyenne lobby and Broadmoor every 15 minutes Cheyenne Mountain resort

  4. Saturday, February 22nd 3:00pm Meet at Monarch High School 3:30 pm Leave on buses Evening Dinner at Fargo’s Pizza Arrive At Cheyenne  11:00 pmCURFEW(in your room) Itinerary

  5. Sunday-Monday, February 23-24 Scavenger Hunt Opening Session Written Event Presentations & Boards Check Role-Play Tests and Competitions

  6. Tuesday, February 25th Morning FINALIST AND HONORABLE MENTION MINI AWARDS CEREMONY COMPETITIVE EVENT FINALS Afternoon GRAND AWARDS CEREMONY 5:30 Buses leave Cheyenne for Monarch Approx 7:00 pm Arrive at Monarch High School

  7. Role Play Events: • Two role plays and one test Written Manual Events: • One Presentation to judges *After the mini-award ceremony, students will know if they will compete in a 3rd role play and/or a 2nd manual presentation **Be 30 minutes early to event Competition

  8. Business Formal Dress Code

  9. $80 for food. Possible more for your own personal spending. • Food and snacks for your rooms • Toiletries (only travel sizes) • Business formal for three days • Jeans and DECA t-shirt for the dance • Other comfortable clothes for the bus home and when you are in the room • Swimsuit (for hot-tub) What to bring: See Packing List Make sure to bring pencils, pens, and school IDs Boards will be brought up by chaperone cars

Saturday (Feb 22nd ) Dinner @ Fargos Pizza • Sunday - Breakfast, lunch & dinner on your own • Monday - Breakfast on your own, lunch provided w/ ticket, dinner on your own • Tuesday - Breakfast on your own, lunch provided w/ ticket, bus will be back in time for dinner • Bring around $80 for all the meals on your own • Many students bring their own breakfast Food & money

  11. No jeans or denim around the hotel • Swimming is permitted • Be Respectful of the hotel and other guests • Quiet past 10:30 Rules for the Cheyenne Mountain Resort

  12. All medications must be handled by Mrs. Anderson (Forms available at end of this meeting) • Chaperones will be able to drive students to restaurants/bring back takeout, but only students assigned to them by small groups. • Boys and girls will not be allowed in each others rooms without permission from an advisor.
