  2. Article Analysis • “Story of an hour” tells us about the woman who underwent a dramatic incident about her husbands death and finally died of heart attack. ◎She had died of grief that kills. ◎We can see this story as western women’s sadness of being constrained by men.

  3. “Lost Lives of Women” tells another story about eastern world. ◎Women equals to men’s belongings. ◎Men own many concubines who would be discarded away once men lose interests.

  4. ◎ There are still many gender issues prop out every day and it seems that there is no solution to the problem.

  5. Issue Discussion • Labor force of women ◎ World War I leads to the shortage of labor due to men were sent to the battlefront. ◎ Western women’s status is keep rising by feminist campaigns.

  6. ◎ Until eastern countries become colonized by western explorers. ◎ Women have the chance to learn, to think, to challenge and change the old thinking.

  7. OpinionsofTaiwanSociety ◎UN Asia-Pacific Human Development Report pointed out that women in Asia-Pacific area lack powers of politics and economy.

  8. ◎Women in Taiwan face dilemmas when they try to challenge higher positions. ◎Men in Taiwan should adjust themselves to those new thoughts--a person's value can't be affected by his/her gender.
