The workforce goes to where the workload is! • Lack of ‘static’ Research staff for a variety of reasons • Topping up of existing staff due to increase in workload • Supporting busy clinical teams with study specific tasks • Data queries /study close-down where Research Nurse has left • Team willing and able to travel to any Trust, at short notice, any clinical specialty and any type of study • Health care assistant supporting role (clinical + clerical) • Intense training to prepare all staff for their role • Development of a highly trained ‘career’ workforce • Development opportunities → researchers of the future • Identification of different site issues, removing blocks and promoting the most appropriate use of resource within the region • Good alignment with RM&G, advising with feasibility • Opportunistic opportunities to raise the profile of research in Trusts • Front line staff in the event of Pandemic studies
