COSMO license issues, Part I Status of contracts Current operational licensees (20.000 € annual fee each) • United Arab Emirates (NCMS) since July 2010 • Brazil (INMET) since January 2011 • Oman (DGMAN) since January 2011 • Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya since August 2011. • The license income cannot be transferred from one year to the next! • Except Catalunya, all countries have been HRM users before. All countries use GME (30 km L60) LBC data.
COSMO license issues, Part II Income and activity proposals in 2011, procedures Income from license fees in 2011: 68.500 € Number of Activity Proposals received so far: 25 Money spent (and accepted) until Sep. 2011: 60.000 € 44.000 € is planned for further development of fieldextra For 2012, please send your Activity Proposals as early as possible to the Head of STC and SPM!
COSMO license issues, Part III Strategy for enhancing number of licensees, COSMO model contract for developing countries STC supports the idea to increase the number of licensees! • Former HRM community (e.g. Botswana, Brazil (DHN), Malaysia) • Annual Capacity Building Workshop in July advertised via WMO • Advertisement of COSMO license on COSMO Webpage COSMO contract for developing countries Contract which will be issued starting January 2013, before, the scientific contract will be used to allow HRM users to migrate to the COSMO model.
