WACE EXAM REQUIREMENTS Year 12 students enrolled in a pair of stage 2 or Stage 3 course units must sit the WACE examination in that course, unless exempt. If they do not sit, or do not make a genuine attempt in this WACE examination, the grades for the pair of units completed in that year will not contribute to the calculation of the C grade average requirement, but still count in the breadth and depth requirement.
Exam EXEMPTIONS Application for Exam Exemptions are now closed. Students have completed the verification of enrollments and WACE exams.

Authorised Materials in an Examination • Candidates are advised of all special items authorised to be taken into an examination room in the booklet Year 12 Information Handbook 2012issued to all candidates in Term 2. • Materials authorised for use in certain examinations include: • graphics calculators (for mathematics and some science examinations); • non-programmable calculators (for many examinations); • two sheets of unfolded A4 paper (for mathematics examinations); • dictionaries (for LOTE examinations).
Authorised Materials in an Examination • It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that all materials in their possession in an examination room are authorised tobe there. • Candidates who are found in the possession of unauthorised material risk the cancellation of all or part of their examination paper whether or not actual use isestablished.
Sickness/Misadventure • For circumstances beyond student’s control. • For temporary sickness - non permanent disability. • For sickness or misadventure occurring during or just prior to the exam. • The candidate is responsible for gathering the evidence. • Applications close 28November. • Forms available from the exam centre (contact Ms. Pendlebury). • Decision is final - appeal available on the process only. • If approved, higher of theraw exam mark and adjusted mark used.
Preparing for the Examinations • Front covers of all WACE papers – sent to schools each year. • Syllabus manuals - published on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority website for downloading. • WACE Examiners’ Reports – published on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority website for downloading. • Past WACE papers and sound recordings – purchase from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority. • Good Answer Booklets and Sample Answer Booklets - purchase from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority . • Private Providers advertise throughout the school year.
