  1. Trends InTechnology By : Lauren Smith

  2. Who uses technology On average, 66% of K-12 students are taught technology literacy and technology Integration.

  3. Technologies Being Used • Computers • Laptops • Smart boards • Clickers • Projectors • Calculators • Televisions and DVD Players

  4. What Does This Mean? Teachers need to comply with the changing technologies of the that are available to them and try to use as many as possible to enrich the learning of their students. This would also help them in the future, so they would know what options they have to lean and how to use it.

  5. Trends In Technology Technology is becoming more available to schools, teachers, and students. 93% of teachers use desktops computer, and only 39% of teachers use laptops, and only 10% of teachers use smart boards to teach with. This shows that there are technologies out there, but there are not a lot of the technology available so each teacher can have one to use. So only a few teachers, and students are getting to take full advantage of the technology that is out there.

  6. In The Future In the future all students will have a light weight laptop provided for them to take to all of their classes to replace the lugging around of textbooks; in a wireless building. Text books will become a rarity, and irrelevant to the success of learning. Some schools have already partnered with Microsoft to provide this new environment were learning is more adaptable to each students’ needs. The overhead projector and black board will merge together in all classrooms to form a more high tech smart board for all. And this would all be wrapped in a totally Green and eco-friendly building.

  7. Smart Boards Smart boards are the tool of the future that every teacher needs and wants. This piece of technology can help any teacher in any subject reach the minds of their students.

  8. ARE THEY WORTH IT? Yes, they are. A SMART Board can do everything a traditional overhead projector can do, only easier. Instead of creating a transparency of a worksheet, you can simply stick the worksheet under the document camera and it appears on the whiteboard. You can display computer screens easily and write all over them on the board, use a special highlighter tool or even use your finger as the mouse and control the screen without going back to your desk.

  9. THE COST Smart boards cost in between 3,000-5,000 dollars to have in every class room. But the benefits out way the cost. So they are worth the money to have in every classroom.
