Curriculum • Current • 7th grade required course (60 hours) • 9th-12th electives (over 20 semesters) • Proposed • 6th-8th grade required courses (150 total hours) • 9th grade required semester course • 9th-12th grade electives (6 semesters) • Capstone Course: Innovation and Invention
Middle Level • 6th Grade: Exploring Technology • 9 weeks (30 hours) • 7th Grade: Applying Technology • 18 weeks (60 hours) • 8th Grade: Creating Technology • 18 weeks (60 hours)
High School Required • 9th grade: Technological Design and Systems • 18 weeks (60 hours) • Capstone course: Innovation and Invention • 11th or 12th grade • 18 or 36 weeks (60 or 120 hours)
High School Elective • Manufacturing Technology • 9th (second semester) through 12th 18 week course • Design and Manufacturing Enterprise • 10th through 12th 18 week course • Engineering Design and Applications • 10th through 12th 18 week course
HS Electives Continued • Designs in Bio-Related Technology • 10th through 12th 18 week course • Multimedia Technology • 11th through 12th 36 week course
Transition • Woodworking Manufacturing Tech or Design and Manufacturing Enterprise • Drafting Engineering Design and Applications
Budget for 2007-2008 • $225,000 needed to complete the update of equipment and materials • Approximately $30,000 for textbooks • Facility remodeling handled by Buildings and Grounds • This will enable full implementation of the proposed curriculum
