Partners In Mission trips aren’t one time events. The partnership of Texas Conference churches provides continuity and sustained love and support.

Things we learned in Kenya: • Be ready for culture shock – going and coming back • Just show them Jesus; don’t try to change their culture • Take bug spray, and use it • Don’t forget everything you learned in “missionary school”

One story . . . Mwenda, 14 Karimi, 12 Jennifer, 86 (grandmother)
The parents of Karimi and Mwenda died of AIDS.Nearly all of their land had been sold to pay debts.This was their house and only bed.

How housing helps the orphans • Safety / shelter • Helps them go to school • Less chances of: • Abuse • HIV / AIDS • Turning to crime, drugs or prostitution • Pneumonia • Sickness & death from contaminated water
Money goes a long way in Africa $1,200 builds a home for AIDS orphans $15 per month buys food and a uniform so a child can attend school
Money goes a long way in Africa $14 per month provides medicine to keep HIV/AIDS patients alive (ART = Anti-retroviral therapy)
