WHAT IS ANSI? • ANSI is U.S. member for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) • ANSI is the chief coordinating body of U.S. Standards System • ANSI uses voluntary consensus standards, it does not write the standards

An important step in realizing a true networked or “smart” home, was achieved recently by the completion of a Connected Home Appliance Standard, pending approval as an American National Standard – New York News Release, March 22, 2002
