Bandura’s Experiment Cherell German
Albert Bandurum • Composed an experiment of having a child watch an adult kick, pound, and take aggressive anger out on a Bobo doll for about 10 minutes to study the behavior of observational learning. • He tells the child that he isn't able to play with certain toys to anger the child and puts him alone in a room with a bobo doll. • Result: the child imitates almost exactly what he saw the adult do.(cursing, pounding, hitting)
Conclusion Observational learning-learning by observing others Modeling-the process of observing and imitating a specific behavior Mirror Neurons- neuron that fires back an reaction that another person does
Applications of Observational Learning • AntisocialBehavior-cancome from a certain lifestyle or even watching television, negative behavior • Prosocial Behavior- constructive, helpful behavior • A person who grew up in a environment where he or she experienced abuse will more likely grow up to abuse his or her mate.
Television • Many scientists believe that television has a big effect on a child's behavior. • WWE, The Bad Girls Club, Dora, Music Videos • The longer you watch or are exposed to violence it desensitizes viewers(become indifferent to it as they get older.
