  7. Remember what “social” means . . . • Anyone will be able to view your Delicious page at your URL address. However, you will be the only one who can edit the page. You can add websites and delete websites after you log into Delicious. • You can make specific websites private by selecting the “Do Not Share” box.

  8. Tagging helps you stay organized folks! “Folksonomy” is a user-generated taxonomy used to categorize, track, group, search, and retrieve Web pages, photographs, Web links and other web content using open ended labels called tags. It improves searches by allowing users to label information with their own language.

  9. Tagging • A tag is simply a word you use to describe a bookmark. • Unlike folders, you make up tags when you need them and you can use as many as you like.

  10. Tag Cloud- Tags get bigger each time they are used to show popularity

  11. Tag Hints • Tags need to be one word as using the space bar identifies another tag in Delicious. Do not use commas! • Use underscores or combine words • Ex. Graphic_Organizer or cellphones NOT graphic organizer or cell phones as these would be seen as separate tags

  12. What is a Network? • Your network connects you to other Delicious users: friends, family, coworkers. You can view and manage your network by going to the Network tab at the top of the page. • Why should I subscribe to networks? Every time you subscribe to someone’s network, you can see the user’s sites on a separate page and it updates automatically whenever the person adds a site. • You don’t waste your time finding sites! The sites come to you!
