(Nursing Home Act) • Increase number of Publicly funded and operated LTC beds. • Meaningful Patient/Family Councils in all care facilities. • An Independent Seniors Advocate as an officer of the Legislature.

Poster Campaign
Constituency Action Teams (CATs) • Teams of five or six constituents who agree to meet two or three times each year with their MLA. • Based on briefing notes, they are armed with questions and background information on critical issues in seniors care. • They are also provided with responses to the ‘pat’ answers that MLAs are trained to give.
Educating the public • Our response to the corporate delivery of Home Care was a Position Paper on Homecare. • Our response to the proposed elimination of Alberta’s Seniors Drug Plan was a Position Paper on Pharmacare.
