Keep Small things
Silent Lunch If you have chosen to not follow the rules in class, you will be assigned silent lunch. This year – silent lunch table. If you receive before lunch – serve that day. Otherwise – serve the following day.
Behavior Training Behavior training will be served 7th period the day after it is assigned. For example, if a teacher assigns you behavior training on a Monday, you will serve Tuesday.

Office Referral • I will use office referrals in response to ongoing issues or extreme instances of misbehavior.
Remember… It’s never personal. I do not take sides when it comes to making sure we are on task in my classroom. Come in here to learn and own your actions and you will do great!

Procedure: Getting Your Attention • When I need your attention during work time… • I will say, “Class, silent eyes on me in…” and will begin to count down from five. • Stop talking as soon as you hear my voice. Stop what you are doing, put objects in your hands on your desk, and turn to face me. • All noise and movement should be done and eyes should be on me by the time I reach 1. • If it is, students will get a point. If there is any talking Ms. Lonsdale will get points.

Think, Pair, Share Procedure: • Work in pairs. • A problem or question will appear on the board. • I will read the question as you read it to yourself. • Take 30 seconds to 1 minute thinking about the answer and jotting down ideas. • When I say “pair talk!”, turn to your partner and discuss the answer in group speak for 1-2 minutes. • When I give the signal to give me your attention, immediately stop what you are doing and put your eyes on me. • I will cold call students to share their answers.

Procedure – Entering Class Line up on the rightside of the hall outside of this classroom. When Ms. Lonsdale says you may enter… • Silently walk directly to your assigned seat • Sit down • Silently begin your bellwork.
Procedure - Leaving Class The bell does not dismiss you, I do. If you get up from your seat or stop your work when the bell rings you will be the last to leave. You will be dismissed by rows. You may not leave until your row is dismissed (an assigned Exit Leader will dismiss rows starting next week)
