Challenges Awareness Many faculty on our campus don’t know what OER are, or think that open = free. Some faculty have negative preconceived notions about OER. Staffing We have had only one person in the library working on this, but we have a new scholarly communication librarian who will also be doing work with OER. SB 810 It has proven difficult to identify the classes that have no materials costs. This is a priority for next year.
Year Three: AY19-20 Make the committee more official Involving Faculty Senate Another Community of Practice Focus on SB810 Texas A&M University System Affordable Learning initiative SPARC OER Leadership Program
