  3. The Flag Poems • Read the first Flag poem as a class. Discuss by stanza the meaning of the poem. • Turn and talk to your elbow partner to discuss who the narrator of the poem is. • As a class, discuss who the narrator is and PROVE how you know- Cite examples from the poem.

  4. The Flag Poems • With your nine o’clock partner, read the second ‘The Flag’ poem. • After reading it through once, discuss who is narrating this poem. Underline details in the poem to prove who the narrator is. • If time allows, read through the poem a second time.
