  1. Publicity & Promotions

  2. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • You must be stealthy and aware of your surroundings at all times.

  3. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • Respect the cast, crew and set by acting like a fly on the wall: try to wear dark clothes that do not stand out, shoes & jewelry that do not make noise, and turn OFF anything that beeps or rings.

  4. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • When the crew breaks, then and only then, do you break...no questions asked and no complaints. If you must leave, do so in silence.

  5. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • Limit talking and getting to know the crew while on the set, you may miss the money shot if you're too busy socializing, save it for breaks and then socialize all you want.

  6. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • What makes a Money Shot:

  7. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • Example:

  8. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • Get in tune with the Assistant Director, this will help you to become aware of where you should be and when you can actually release the shutter.

  9. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • Photographing stills of the actors and cast in character and while performing should be limited to run throughs, or takes without sound...unless you've got a silencing casing for your camera. Even then, you should check with the AD before the actual take (s).

  10. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • Pay close attention to the lighting and whether the source is HMI, Tungsten, Flourescent, etc. and adjust your camera or filters accordingly.

  11. Publicity & Promotions • Set Etiquette and Production Shooting • If you need to use flash, you must first check with the AD and crew...and if ok'd, just before hitting the shutter, you must audibly pronounce that you are "FLASHING!" • FLASHING!
