THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT TO REMEMBER:Be kind to each other and to me.
DO NOT TOUCH WITHOUT PERMISSION:The teacher’s desk and everything on it (this includes the computer desk); The SMART/marker/chalk boards; The walls or anything on them; The computers.
MATERIALS FOR THIS CLASS Pen and or pencil(s) and notebook paper; When necessary, I will provide students with graph paper.
There are some more rules which you should know to make our time together enjoyable:Bring all materials to class every day. Students know the rules about electronic devices, ear buds, hats, and sagging pants. Students should NEVER have to be told to correct infractions of the school policy. Profanity is not allowed. It is vulgar and inappropriate in any professional setting.
CONTINUED…Students may only leave the room with a hall pass after the first ten minutes and before the last ten minutes of class. Only one student may be out of the room at a time. I am the only person who can write on the hall pass and I will write each notation.Don’t miss class. If all the information could be gotten from the book, there would be no reason for teachers to be employed. No eating or drinking in class unless it is part of a class project.
GRADING POLICY: The grading formula is calculated as follows:10% Homework20% Participation40% Quizzes/Daily Assignments30% Test/Assessments (like projects) The participation grade is based on bell work, which reflects each student’s being prepared and alert at all times so that the teacher can assess his or her readiness to learn. Students who are tardy or unprepared cannot successfully complete bell work.
The Shelby County Schools’ grading scale is as follows:A = 93 - 100B = 85 - 92C = 75 - 84D = 70 - 74F = below 70If a student has any makeup work, his/her most recent test grade will substitute for the missing grade/grades.
CARE AND SHAREI will maintain a class “resource center” which contains paper, pens, pencils, scissors, Kleenex, etc. Even though you are responsible for providing your own school supplies, if you forget something or need to borrow some supplies, you may do so. In order for this to work, students MUST be on their honor to take only what they need when they need it and to keep the table in good order. Students are WELCOME to donate to the Care and Share table; however, if theft or vandalism occurs, it will be closed down. The Care and Share is funded by voluntary contributions and donations.
CHEATING will be defined in the following manner:TALKING during the testing period before all papers have been turned inPLAGIARIZING work (copying or adopting someone else’s ideas without giving credit)SHARING work with anyone (either giving or receiving unauthorized assistance)COPYING assignments (with or without the permission of the donor)ALLOWING others to copy from youUSING notes, "study aids," or personal tattoos without permissionThe penalties for cheating will bealoss of faith and trust and a grade of zero for the assignment(s) involved.

I have an educational blog site under construction. Ideally, all class assignments, a class calendar, announcements, and class rules should be accessible from that site:http://wooddalehsecon.weebly.com/
In my class, you don't earn trust; you lose it. Once it's lost, though, it will be hard to recover.
