History of Bridges • In the fourth century the strongest bridge was made out of bamboo and iron chains. • The oldest bridge was in china and built from the 595 to 605 AD • In the 19th century for longer bridges they used wrought iron.
History of Bridges • In 1784 the first know cable stayed bridge was built. • In 1954 the first sunshine skyway was opened • In 1971 people worked to expand the sunshine skyway to make it in to 2 lanes going in both directions. • On May 9, 1980 a boat hit the sunshine sky way which made the bridge claps.
History of Bridges • The Sydney harbor bridge was built on march 19, 1932. • In 1932 the bridge was open. • The Sydeny harbor opened up its first tram for the bridge.
History of Bridges • The sunshine skyway was completed on may 27, 1937 • On January 5,1933 the bridge was started to be worked on. • People thought before the built of the bridge they thought it was not going to be able to be built.
