Roles and Responsibilities • Assist the principal in development, review and revision of the Campus Action Plan • Provide input to improve student performance • Establish campus goals and strategies with guidance from the principal • Advise and make recommendations to the principal in curriculum, budget, staffing patterns, goal setting, and school organization (TEC 11.253(e) & (BQB)Local) • Develop and approve staff development(TEC 21.451) & (BQB)Local) • Hold at least one public meeting per year after receipt of the accountability rating to discuss campus performance objectives (TEC 11.253) & (BQB)Local • Provide comments on campus level waivers that are submitted to the board for approval prior to consideration by the commissioner (TEC 7.056) • Select recipients of the Special campus instructional grants when awarded (AISD ) • Composition • The committee must have at least 12 members: • Four parents of current students on campus (cannot be District employees) • One community representative (not a District employee /not a parent) • One business representative (does not have to live or work in District, must be 18 or older) • Teachers make up at least 2/3 of the campus members • Other campus members can be other professionals such as specialists, counselors, etc. • At least one Special Education professional • At least one District Representative Campus governance: campus site-based committee
PROCEDURES • ACCOUNTABILITY Campus governance: campus site-based committee • All parents must be provided information about SDC and the shared decision-making process • All parents must be invited to participate as one of the parent members. • If more than enough parents apply, have a random draw by the principal to select the members. • Vacancies shall be filled by the end of the first grading period • Meetings times and agendas are set by the building principal and SDC facilitator • The agenda must be posted before each meeting • Minutes after each meeting should be posted in a prominent location in your building • Decisions and accomplishments of the campus shall be reviewed annually through desk audits at the district level • Progress towards meeting goals • Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) • Staff survey results (every other year) • Compliance with district policy and procedures • Compliance with State & Federal program requirements
