Today we’re going to learn what Morphology is. Morphology is the study of the structure of words and how we can break them down into smaller chunks called morphemes. But first, let’s get to know each other. I want you to make me out of plasticine. You heard me. Make me. With your fingers.

post-,re- and by- are prefixes. There are 57 common prefixes in English, including dis-, un-, mal-, mega-, auto-, trans-, ex-, semi- What do each of them mean? Write out a couple of examples of words featuring each prefix and try to work it out.
Can we affix it? Yes we can! Affixes appear at the ends of words and will be covered in more detail in Part 2, but they include, -s -ed -ly -hood -ing -ocracy -ship -ese and loads more!
