INSECT COLLECTIONTotal Possible Points: 40 POINTS • Minimum requirement of the collection • 8insect orders: (8points) • No. of specimens:30species (half point for every species = (15 points). At least 15 species are pests • Insect Larvae or Pupae: 2 types of any larvae or pupae = (2 points)
INSECT COLLECTION • Presentation: Organization, Labelling and Mounting Technique (15 points) • Each specimens must be correctly and neatly labeled to be worth credit. • Badly damaged specimens will not count. • Mounting and labeling skills will be covered in lab. • Neatness is important!
INSECT COLLECTION • Correct identification • Students are expected to identify up to family level except for major/common pests (up to genus/species). • Extra Credit Considerations • More Diversity Collection that represent an outstanding diversity which means more than 8orders and 30 species but on one condition, they must be accurately identified.
