Textbook on 학습자료실 • Your “text” for this semester is digital. To read the file you must have http://www.openoffice.org/download/ • You should download the file to your computer and use it as a text, reference, and study aid during the semester. • Each week I will tell you which pages to print/ bring to class. • I recommend printing the entire book at the print shop. This is probably more convenient (and maybe cheaper) than printing individual pages week by week.

Attendance: Attendance is 10% of your final grade. Each unexcused absence is -2.5 points from your final grade. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be absent. Four (4) unexcused absences will give you an ‘F’ grade for the semester. Show me a “real” excuse note to be excused.

Participation: Participation is worth 20% of your total grade. Bring your textbook, notebook paper and any handouts that were given to you. TURN OFF your cell phones. Quizzes: Quizzes will be worth 15% of your final grade. There will be between 3written quizzes this semester. If you are absent without an excuse, you cannot take the quiz. Quizzes are taken individually, do not work with your partner or as a group.
Homework: Homework will be worth 15% of your total grade. Homework must be submitted on or before the due date. Homework that is not submitted on or before the due date will not be accepted. Homework may be made up if you have an excused absence. If your absence is not excused, it will not be accepted.

After university, Tim taught English for two years in Niigata, Japan.
The next year, he went to work at a university in Thailand. The pay was terrible...!
When he returned to Korea, Tim worked at universities in Daegu, Incheon, Gyeongsan, and Hayang.

International Lounge You must go to the International Lounge (IL) five (5) times this semester: • Go to the Elementary class ONLY. • Participate Actively • listen carefully • ask questions • answer questions • do all the activities - speaking and writing • Have the lounge teacher sign your sheet at the end of the class. • Show your sheet to me each 3-week period • No later than week 4 (class time) for first box.
