New leader of section – Aiga Pīķe • Main librarian at Riga Central library branch library “Avots” • Abiturent of library science bachelors at University of Latvia • Activities in Library Asocciation of Latvia: • Work with documents archive • Participating in Baltic meeting (2018) • Volunteering at events of LAL • Course work “Library Asocciation of Latvia and its guidlines” • Bachelor thesis “Library Association of Latvia and its professional experience sharing activities since the reestablishment”

Formation of New Professionals Section • Latvians was the first in Europe, who developed a section for new professionals • In 2009 Silvija Tretjakova (president of LAL) encouraged Dace Ūdre (student, activist in LAL projects) to create a section • It influenced the formation of new professional movement in Baltic states Found out in result of interview for bachelor thesis

  14. Meeting with students • 2 board members (of which 1 president) and leader of NPS • Library science bachelor students (1st and 2nd course) • Our experience stories – study years, career, volunteering and activities in Library Association of Latvia

  15. Regional seminars • Meetings with members of section, who lives and works at district areas • Thinking about future work organization and planning activities • Different locations (not capital city) – Latgale, Vidzeme, Kurzeme Latgale Vidzeme Kurzeme

Regional seminars – Latgale 3rd seminar of section members • Preiļi Head library • 14th June • Presentations: • Promoting a library on social networks: stock, services and image creation • LAL ERASMUS+ project “Development of the professional ICT skills of Latvian librarians – adult educators”

  17. Regional seminars – Vidzeme 4th seminar of section members • Madona district library • 5th July • Presentations: • Professional careers of graduates from 2013–2018 of the Master's degree programme “Library science and information” • E-book project “Librarians Around the World”

  18. Regional seminars – Kurzeme 5th seminar of section members • Kuldīga Main library • 15th August • Presentations: • Library – a shelter for intelligent weirdies (image of librarians in fiction) • Practical lesson “ACTIVE” (work with children in library)

  21. Conference 4CanGurus & Baltic meeting in Latvia! 4CanGurus has been in Riga, Latgale, Kurzeme, and Zemgale, next year we will meet in Vidzeme, covering all regions in Latvia! About time and place we will discuss in regional seminars
