Scheduling Process • Complete Course Selection Form • Return with Parent Signature • Make course selections based on • 8th grade teacher recommendation • English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Language • Based on department criteria & prerequisite courses • Graduation requirements • Interests or aptitudes in subject areas • Prepare for career • Meet college entrance requirements • Meet NCAA initial eligibility
Students must . . . • Be scheduled for a minimum of 32.5 credits each year. • There are 40 available periods each week. • Each class meeting per week is 1 credit. • Successfully pass a minimum of 120 credits. • Pass the HS Proficiency Assessment (HSPA). To graduate from MHS!
Scheduling Timeline • 8th Grade orientation (today) • Parent Orientation • Held in January • March – Level Recommendations • March 30-April 2 Indiv. Meetings to input courses • May—Master schedule built • June – Course conflict resolution • August--schedule mailed to you
