National Meeting • Chapter Photo • In APhA-ASP shirts • Friday evening before opening session • Distance students-if you would like to purchase a shirt to wear in the picture, I will bring one to the meeting with me but you need to bring $15 to pay for your shirt. • Email MorganPusek@creighton.edu to pre-order your shirt • Campus students-if you would like to purchase a shirt, we will set up a table in the MOO lounge on Wednesday, March 26th during the lunch hour • $15 cash or check
National Meeting! • National Patient Counseling Competition • Charles Doan will be representing Creighton University at the National competition in Orlando • Congratulations to Charles! • Next year’s competition will be held early during the first semester for campus students and during the summer sessions for distance students • If you are interested in helping with the preparation for the patient counseling competition for next year, Please contact Morgan

National meeting! • Creighton “Alumni and Friends” Reception • Date: Saturday, March 29, 2014 • Time: 6:30 – 8 p.m.Room:BarrellSprings Ballroom • Location: Hyatt Regency Orlando (9801 International Dr. Orlando, FL) • Description: At the reception, we will have door prizes, a slideshow, video presentation, hot and cold appetizers, and a cash bar. Each SPAHP alumnus, student, faculty and guest who pre-registers by March. 25 will also receive a complimentary drink ticket. • This is the required event for reimbursement eligibility
National Meeting! • Creighton Pharmacy Student Lunch • Date: Sunday, March 30, 2014 • Time: 12:30-2 p.m. • Room:Havana Ballroom, 2nd floor • Location: Cuba Libre (9101 International Drive, Orlando, FL) • Description: The atmosphere for this free lunch for all Creighton students attending APhA hosted by Dean Bradberry and supported by the SPAHP Alumni Advisory Board will be informal. There will be a buffet of authentic Cuban options (considerations for vegetarian, gluten, dairy and nut restrictions). Eat, mingle, come and go as you please (arrival by 12:30 appreciated, but if your schedule requires you to be late, buffet will remain open until 2 p.m.) PRE-REGISTRATION BY MARCH 25 IS REQUIRED. Coordinated with Morgan Pusek, APhA-ASP president-elect.
Region 5 Social in Orlando! • Breanna Sundermann (Previous Region 5 MRM) has coordinated a Region 5 Social in Orlando • When: Saturday, March 29th at 10mg at David’s Bar at the Hilton hotel • Opportunity to connect with members from other chapters in our region • Distance students-great opportunity for you to make connections if you live near other schools and want to volunteer for their projects
Committees • New Committee chairs have been selected! • Selection based on past experience within APhA-ASP, knowledge based on current year in pharmacy school, and timeline for submitting the application • Those of you who were not selected as chair of a committee, please continue to be involved in APhA-ASP as a volunteer member for the committee you hope to chair next year • Past experience within committees in highly considered in an application for committee chair
Next Meeting • Swearing in of new officers • Information about where to pick up checks for APhA reimbursement • Distance students: Need to mail a stamped, self-addressed envelope to address that will be confirmed and sent out to those who will be receiving reimbursement • We will email the distance students who need to send in an envelope • Potential speaker at the next meeting • End-of-year survey
