  6. M-IMAP Charging Scheme at KDDI 1. E-mail shall be charged by the amount of data. - \0.27 / 1packet (1packet = 128byte) - There is no different packet rate among the e-mail type. (ex; between only text-type e-mail and picture-mail) - There is no different rate depending on time zone. --> Same rate all day long. We just only concern about “the amount of Packet”. 2. Packet Billing Standardization • Customer Charging • Shall be standardized. • Charge from HOME Proxy-AAA makes UDR. • No need for sending CIBER records for customer charging • Charging Rate depends on every carriers. • Settlement between Carrier and Carrier • Shall be standardized. • CIBER record shall be generated by packet base. (not time base) • Serving Carrier send the record to Clearing House for the settlement. It works as well as current voice case. • Home Carrier should confirm the fee (Packet Volume) from their own data made in Home network. • Settlement between Carrier and ISP • No need for standardization.
