  2. Centre of Energy Alternatives Centrum of Energy Alternatives CEAs target is to efective influence the developement in RES sector to meet following criteria: • Energy relevance • Economical • Enviromental CEA members : environmental organisations, RES developers, independent experts

  3. Centre of Energy Alternatives GENERAL PARAMETERS Possibilities in Slovakia : • Locations with average wind speeds over 6.5 m/s in HH • Stabile Grid with capacity for wind power around 1GW • Current tariff 9 euro c per 1 kWh • Expected installation till 2015 : 650 MW

Centre of Energy Alternatives BARRIERS • Political • No political relevant subject supporting wind energy • Strategy of Energy Security targets : „ blocking develpements in wind energy „ • Administrative • Strategy of Energy Security targets : „ blocking develpements in wind energy „ • EIA procedures , requireing up to 5 years of research in fields like influece of earth cables on microorganisms etc. • General Construction and building permit situation • Economical • Tariff guarantee only 1 year, maximal 5 years • No existing track record experience

Centre of Energy Alternatives BARRIERS ON THE SIDE OF DEVELOPERS • Economical • Developement companies in SK are not conected teuropean companies and operate with limited budgets • Underfinanced developement leads to overexceeding of future operationg costs • Professional • Limited experience with wind park operations • Most of developement works started 2 years ago • Market acces strategy • Focus on maximizing the size of park and number of projects – currently officialy requested grid acces over 4000 MW - „ PAPER TIGERS“
