Global Initiatives 2017 • Our focus is on leadership, personal development through student led initiatives, service, teamwork and trip preparation using the service learning model. • Open to students in grades 10, 11 and 12 • Priority will be given to students who • have completed CI and are enrolled in the GI program.
Accommodations • Food and water are prepared safely • 24 Security • Clean accommodation for students to debrief and relax after a hot day • Staff known by our school staff • Students are not allowed to wander on their own
Safety Considerations: • Led several trips to same location • Live Different staff have experience with adolescents • Safe and secure accommodation
Some other information GI has grown over the past six years at Carson: 12 Houses built • 1 Medical/Dental Clinic • 1 Latrine • Over 400 students have participated in our program in the past 6 years at Carson Graham • We work in communities in which we are known and with development partners who we have built a positive relationship. CLASS RUNS Mondays from 3:15 – 5:00

Trip CostsTotal cost = $4150 Ellison Travel $1500.00 • Air and ground travel in North America, insurance, baggage • Pay to CGSS Live Different $ 2650.00 • Responsible for our time in the Dominican Republic, rooms, food, excursions, building costs, furnishing houses, land costs • Donations = tax receipts • Register online for the trip and pay online https://my.livedifferent.com/Event?id=a0e500000061r82AAA (password: carson)
To Do: • Complete Ellison Travel form and CGSS/NVSD School Field trip Submit by June 9th and include $300.00 non refundable cheque to main office in a sealed envelope. • Register with Live Different onlinehttps://my.livedifferent.com/Event?id=a0e500000061r82AAA (password : carson) and fill out applicationand pay $300.00 online Complete by June 17th 3. Come to our next fundraising meeting on Sept 16th at 7:00 in the library 4. Remainder of payments are due on January 16th, 2017
