What is IASS: IASS deals with all telephone contacts and referrals for Children & Young People requiring information, advice, support or services from Children’s Social Care in Birmingham The team consists of: • Team Manager • Referral & Advice Officers • Social Workers • fCAF workers
IASS - Screening • All contacts and referrals will be screened to ensure that urgent safeguarding referrals are processed promptly. • All referrals should be: • Use the fCAF to demonstrate agency involvement & evidence of intervention • Use the inter-agency referral form for serious concerns • By phone for immediate concerns
IASS - Decisions: • A decision about a contact, referral or a family CAF received into the team will be taken in most circumstances within 24 hours. • Written decisions will be sent out to the referrer • Where fCAF is recommended support will be offered
IASS - fCAF support • We intend to support you by providing reassurance, advice, sign posting, and guidance in the completion of Family CAF and Integrated Support Plan meetings. • The IASS fCAF team will support you with the initiation, evaluation and outcome monitoring of the fCAF episode.
