  2. Data Discussion • Review of data from Fall 2013 edTPA • SUNY Cortland Results • Feedback from SUNY Cortland edTPA Completers • William O’Hare; LaJoie Ward

  3. edTPA Updates • Current resources in place for edTPA support • Updated Website • http://www2.cortland.edu/schools/education/edtpa/ • Study Hall Schedule • edTPA Advisor work

  4. edTPA Guiding Principles • edTPA work in first quarter of ST • edTPA deadlines for program completion only. • Program feedback on edTPA • Reduce other ST projects • No retakes in ST • Encourage ST independence

  5. edTPA Retake Course • Needed if a field placement is needed for retake. • Will be going through curriculum process and will need endorsement by each school’s CC. • Largely an independent study overseen by edTPA advisors. • Currently, 2 students enrolled.

  6. Consent Form Revisions • Status of consent issues in the field. • Practice of other SUNY’s. • Process for revision.

  7. UUP Advocacy on edTPA • Overview of work of UUP on issues related to edTPA. • Progress to date.

  8. Other NYSTCE Updates • Cut Scores for new tests • On 400-600 point scale, 520 is cut score. • ALST practice test support • Campus computer-based testing center opening in mid-February. • Test Voucher distribution • Second round to open next week

SPA Data Release Dates • Spring 2014 SPA Reports • MST-CHD, requested 1/21 , STE data - expect to finish 1/31 • SST, numerous requests, most recent on 1/17 – have already completed many requests; final NYSTCE data expect to finish 1/31; latest STE addenda and program completer grade distributions may not be done until 2/14 • Math, requested 1/3, GPAs, STEs, NYSTCE & Grade Distributions – STE & NYSTCE data expect to finish 1/31; hope to finish other pieces by 2/7 • Science, several requests made last Fall – most requests have been completed; individual NYSTCE scores expect to finish 1/31 • FSA, several requests made last Fall – most requests have been completed; 2012-13 completer counts expect to finish 1/31

TEC Bylaws: Revision And Update • Role and Function Redefined • Advisory Group Functions moved to a liaison function between the TEC and SUNY Regional Education Consortium • Two Standing Committees: TECRC; Assessment (Curriculum Committee dissolved) *Membership and Council Make-up will be discussed at the March 2014 meeting with vote to follow.

Update: Workshop Schedules And Status • 5 stand-alone sessions remain for each of the current workshops: CARR and SAVE • 6 remaining stand-alone sessions for the new DASA /hybrid Workshop • Candidates can register for individual workshops or have the opportunity to register for multiple sessions on 3 Saturdays over the course of the semester where they can satisfy the entire workshop requirement in 1 day. • Status-DASA HYBRID PILOT • DASA 101 – Should be on CAPP forms. • http://www2.cortland.edu/teacher-education/field-placement/index.dot

Proposed Workshop Registration Process Starting Fall 2014 • Students will be able to sign up for workshops via the course registration process. • Workshops will appear on course schedule. • Registration for workshops will be available through the second quarter of each semester so that registration can continue through the first part of the semester.

Proposed Workshop Registration Process Starting Fall 2014 • Advantages: • Workshop fees will be on tuition bill and covered by financial aid. • Students can register via a familiar, easy process. • Time, date, location of workshop will appear on student’s course schedule. • Challenges: • Students and faculty will need to get used to this new system. • Will need to resolve issues related to students missing workshops due to illness.
