Long Adjectives • Weusemoreand mostfor themajority of long adjectives whichhavemorethanonesyllable. • Examples: • Exciting/moreexciting/most exciting • Attractive/moreattractive/most attractive • Intelligent/moreintelligent/most intelligent
Adverbs • Weaddmoreand mostto form comparatives and superlatives • Whentwo-syllable adjectives ends in -lyweadd-er and –est • -Weusemoreand mostfor two-syllableadverbslikemoreslowly/most slowly • Some irregular verbs havethesameformsending as short adjectives -er /-est to form superlatives and comparatives. • Examples: • Fast/faster/fastest • Well/better/best • Badly/worse/worst
