ADDIE Design Model • There are 5 different stages of this model: • Analysis • Design • Develop • Implement • Evaluate • All steps are essential to the fulfillment of the next stem. • We will go over each step and try to implement it on our trainings.
ADDIE: Analyze The first step is the Analysis portion. This first step is essential to initiate a lesson or training. This first step helps to accomplish two goals: 1) identify and develop the learning objectives, and 2) obtain your learners’ level of knowledge and learning styles. *Objectives* *Learners*
ADDIE: Analyze Objectives: Identify your goals What knowledge and experience will my learners gain at the end of the training What do I want them to learn Learners: Understand learners’ learning styles and knowledge Learners’ background such as education, age Learners’ expectations Learners’ obstacles such as lack of computer access
ADDIE: Design Develop Objectives Plan, Select, & Write The following questions should be consider: How should the material be organized? What strategies, resources, or/and exercises will be use? What ideas do I want to present to the audience?
ADDIE: Design Predict Outcomes Assess Learners Understanding An assessment can be given to the learners to evaluate their progress in understanding the objectives. For example, if the lesson was about how to develop a business letter, the learner may be given an opportunity to develop one and measure their understanding by comparing theirs against a sample.
ADDIE: Develop Produce the instructional materials This step points out what tools, activities and delivery method will be used. Handouts Presentations Role Play Questionnaires Visual Aids
ADDIE: Implement Hands-On/Practice • Coach and motivate learners • Employ instruction/hand-on- activities • Perform an example activity then allow learners take action “see the fruits of your labor”
ADDIE: Evaluate • Criteria & Feedback • Was the lesson interesting? • Did the learners understand the lesson? • Were the lesson objectives met?
ADDIE: Evaluate • Summative Evaluation • This evaluation is external; the feedback is provided from companies, agencies, and businesses. • Formative Evaluation • This evaluation is internal; the feedback is provided from the learners. Review & Improve
