  2. Industrialism Spreads from Britain • Industrial technologies travel from Britain to America, causing an industrial boom in the United States. Industrialization also spreads to continental Europe and contributes to the rise of imperialism.

  3. Industrial Development in the United States How was the US similar to Britain in regards to industrialization? What event sparked Industrial growth in the United States? • The United States had: • Fast flowing rivers • Rich deposits of coal and iron • Large supply of laborers made up of farmers and immigrants. • War of 1812. Why? • Britain blockaded the US, trying to keep it from engaging in international business. • America was forced to use own resources to develop independent industries
