2. Aims: • General public information: production and broadcasting of radio programs which are listened for several thousands of people. • Motivation of exchange among the program participants (courses, new programs and projects). • Local networking

Weekly multilingual programm: Mon 6:00-7:00 pm: Tamil Radio X (Tamil) – 8 participants Mon 7:00-8:00 pm: Hêvî (Kurdish) - 5 participants Tues 6:30-8:00 pm: The English Show (English) – 8 participants Tues 8:00-9:00 pm: Djoliba (Afrikan: French/English) 5 participants Wed 7:00-8:00 pm: Italia X (Italian) - 3 participants Wed 8:00-9:00 pm: El Papagayo (Spanish) – 4 participants Wed 9:00-10:00 pm: Beleza (Portuguese) – 5 participants Thurs 7:00-8:00 pm: X-tovka (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian) - 5 participants Thurs 8:00-9:00 pmXtanbul (Turkish) – 5 participants Fata Morgana -> Stadtrand (producedbystudents, germanlanguage)

4. Organisation of the multilingual programm: - Coordination (central and in each group of participants) • Migrationsbeirat (migration advisory council) • The multilingual programm ist supported by an important foundation in Basel (Christoph Merian Stiftung), which supports social and many other projects.

5. Migrationsbeirat (migration advisory council) • Participants from the multilingual shows meet 4 times per year with representatives from the Radio X foundation and representatives from supporting organizations. They exchange ideas and decide about strategical issues concerning the multilingual program.

6. Coordination of the multilingual program: • supports the advisory council • is responsible for internal and external communication and identification with the radio station. • organizes reunions ever year and whenever needed

7. Intercultural projects: „Mitreden und miteinander reden“ (2010) „Joining the discussion“ • Participation of immigrants in democratic discourse • Current issues in integration and migration politics • Immigrants as citizens

8. Intercultural projects: „X-Talks“ (2011) • Participation of immigrants in democratic discourse • Current themes from integration and migration politics • 4 live programs, the „X-Talks“ + public discussion • Migration and media work • Migration and culture • Migration and Age • Isola Helvetica (Switzerland from a different perspective) • Important themes were discussed with 70 guests from the administration office, from related private institutions and politicians during a public discussion (world café) at Radio X studio. All guests work in the fields integration, free time, aging and voluntary work.

9. „Schwarz/Weiss die Sendereihe in Grautönen und Vielfarben“ • Project with focus on anti-racism • Special focus on Africa, ist relation to the Region and on Africans living in Basel and their image (especially in the media africans are presented in a context linked to criminality (men) and prostitution (women)) • Supported by the Center for African Studies • African Show „Djoliba“ participated actively especially during concept development and could also profit from the project Aim: to provide information about the diversity in the African continent, its culture and its people and motivate reflection about one‘s own racist behavior.

10. Radio X looks for new ways of intercultural work, exchange between the participants, who don‘t see each other very often in the studio: in a next internal project Radio X will organise a musik show only for the multiligual shows (later will be maybe possible to include the music shows in this project). • Music as something they have in common: e.g. hip hop in Turkey and Brasil? „Italia X“ produces a hiphop-based programm. What about producing a show together with the hiphop show Xplicit Contents?
