APE meeting 1/25/11. Several installation problems recently Thermal acoustic sensor: Vacuum problems, reversed YAG screen. Bumped LVDT. Phase cavities: misconnected cable, loose connector, ungrounded humidity sensor. THz: bad alignment.

  1. APE meeting 1/25/11 • Several installation problems recently • Thermal acoustic sensor: Vacuum problems, reversed YAG screen. Bumped LVDT. • Phase cavities: misconnected cable, loose connector, ungrounded humidity sensor. • THz: bad alignment. • Fast / Good / Cheap: Maybe need a bit less fast, more good. • Need a technical lead for each project: • Makes sure that nothing has been dropped • List now on APE page under “Ape Project Status” • If you don’t have the resources you need, please let me know. • Update web site with progress (time allowing (e.g.. Never)).

  2. Other issues • Phase cavity system over budget – have been using budget to do other (related) work. • May need to reduce scope of projects. Discussing with J. Turner • Norbert Holtkamp wants a “flat” organizational structure: Director, ALD, Division head, Department Head, Everyone Else. (No more group leaders) • Functional supervisors will remain the same • Still under discussion • People overloaded on many projects. If you have any free time, please help out.
