Confinement Credit • 360 Felony Commitment Releases During FY 2018 • Average (mean) confinement credit of 130 days • Credit ranged from 1 to 921 days • Median of 96 days • 16 youth had confinement credit of more than one year • 55 youth had 31 days of credit or less
Effect of Confinement Credit • 14 youth released in FY 2018 admitted with zero days left of their sentence • These youth averaged 408.8 days of confinement credit • Five were from Hamilton County, one from Franklin County • Their average length of stay was 4.0 months Of all FY 2018 felony releases: • Youth with less than median days of credit had an average LOS of 15.5 months • Youth with greater than median days had an average LOS of 12.3 months
