Purpose of the Program • IDEA mandates school districts provide a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for students with disabilities. • FAPE is based on the child’s needs and strengths to maximize personal potential. • Through the IEP process all stakeholders participate in the development of an individualized program for the child to support him/her in maximizing potential.

  3. Service Delivery Model • Through the Special Education process students are referred, evaluated, and determined eligible for IDEA services. • If determined eligible, an IEP is developed. • For students 16 years or older a Transition Plan is required as a part of this IEP. • Services are designed to meet individual students’ needs. • Special Education services range from the least restrictive placement (Class within a Class) to the most restrictive placement (Self-Contained/Separate Day School).

  4. Program Deployment Status • Services are well deployed. • Deployment of services varies depending upon the individual needs of the student.

  5. Progress Toward Previous Program Goal GOAL: To increase compliance with all IDEA federal and state regulations to 100% RESULTS: During the current cycle, six of the 20 possible indicators were determined non-applicable by the state for all districts. Ten of the 14 applicable indicators were met (71%); four indicators (29%) were not met. * Data reflects information from the 2009-10 school year.

  6. Progress Toward Previous Program Goal GOAL: All students on IEPs are afforded a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). RESULTS: A random sample of IEPs was reviewed. Of the 95 IEPs reviewed, 92% of them contained documentation of progress toward meeting individual goals.

  7. Future Program Goals to be Evaluated • To increase compliance with all IDEA federal and state regulations to 100%. • All students on IEPs are afforded a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).

  8. Plan for Evaluation Measurable Outcomes • Given a random sample of student IEPs, 100% will contain documentation of progress toward meeting individual goals. • Development of Standards Based Goal Bank by August 2012. • All Assistive Technology evaluations are completed within the 60 day evaluation time frame. • Increase the number of business partnerships and worksites available for post-secondary activities.
