Background Theory Reality Indices Indicators Analyzed data Primary data Indices Indicators Analyzed data Primary data 4.8.1 Indicators Additional 4 Environment Performance Review Indicators (i) Need to develop consistent information base across the region to: keep track of environment performance; environment concerns are integrated in economic development; and raise awareness of the public. NEED CONCENTRATION ON: • Network at national – sub-regional – regional – global • Data collection • Analysis link to policy • Data issue: compatibility • Linked to ongoing activities Pyramid is often inverted and many indicators and indices are generated on the basis of a limited amount of data and needs to focus on generating good primary data
Progress Development of a conceptual framework Establishment of a consultative network Development of tools for analysis and visualization of information Dissemination of methodology and information Selection of indicators Data search and development of database Performance review for selected countries 4.8.2 Indicators Additional 4 Environment Performance Review Indicators A concept paper has been developed together by ADB, Japan and UNEP The Concept has already been discussed with the major players in the indicator development like OECD and IISD
