ERCIM eMobility Working Group Objectives of ERCIM eMobility WG Seeking influence on international research programs Develop strategic basic research agenda Rather complimentary to eMobility ETP More (theoretical) basic research oriented Driven by academic partners Longer term research Not limited by commercial constraints Stronger focus on social, environmental interests Investigation of disruptive technologies Develop common project proposals, e.g. NoE, FET, STREP, COST

ERCIM eMobility Working Group Addressed Research Topics Applications and Services Mobile applications, e.g. eHealth, mobile multimedia, mobile learning Mobile application support including content distribution and adaptation Ubiquitous and pervasive computing/communications including sensor networks, mobile P2P, location-based services, context-aware computing Middleware and Security Network Architectures and Technologies Wireless access networks Wireless multi-hop networks Experimentation networks Protocols Mobility issues such as mobility management, always best connected, concurrent access, ambient networks QoS and traffic engineering Protocol architectures including cross layer protocol design and energy-efficient protocols
