Overview • Requirement for a project as part of the Undergraduate Degree in Community Education at University of Canberra aligned with objective within ACT Mental Health Services Plan to develop the range of evidence-based prevocational and vocational rehabilitation and education and employment support options as key factors that support and maintain a person’s recovery • Progress previous initiatives around Supported Employment. • Opportunity to take advantage of changes to Disability Employment Sector • Increased funding to vocational sector, including funding for innovative approaches. • Disability Employment Services now incorporate Vocational Rehabilitation Services and the Disability Employment Network Services Overview
Focus of Project • Evidence based approaches and accessible pathways to employment are now supported better than ever by changes to disability employment services. • Better vocational outcomes for consumers of mental health services • Enhanced collaboration between mental health and vocational services. Specific Objectives of the Project • Literature Review • Understanding of changes in the sector • Identify stakeholders • Steering Committee • Reference Group • Implement Project • Build capacity • Mental Health Teams • Vocational Providers • Enhance linkages • Interested consumer participants sought through Woden MHT • Collaborate with consumers, mental health workers and vocational providers to progress vocational goals. • Review and Evaluate • Activity and Participation Questionnaire 6 (APQ6) • Partnership Analysis Tool • Participant Interviews Specific Objectives
