The Hunter By Zack Barnhart. The Hunter By Zack Barnhart.
E N D
It was a cold, fall morning. I was all ready to find the perfect elk. I began my walk into the woods. The wind whipped around the corner moaning and warning me that it was going to be a bad day. The wind started to pick up and the leaves were falling.
It was just getting daylight, and it began to rain. I stopped briefly, and there were no noises.
Suddenly, I heard a bang of thunder, and it poured down rain. It seemed like the sky opened up and the rain flowed like a river. I started to search to find some cover so I wouldn’t get wet.
I found a rock that stuck out of a hillside. I sat down to get out of the rain.As I was sitting there, quickly the rain stopped, and I started to move again. I started to see a lot of animals. I saw many elk walking around, but not the one that I wanted.
I also saw squirrels running on the ground and jumping from tree to tree. The squirrels were playing and making noises to each other.
I looked up and saw birds flying in groups, landing in the fields. The birds were swirling around the trees like a tornado.
The day felt like it was going so slow. Then the birds started chirping loudly like they were talking to me. They warned me that something was coming.
All of a sudden, I saw the biggest elk I had ever seen in my life! Very quietly, I crept over to the elk.
I captured the elk and took it home. The elk is in my fenced in area in my backyard with the rest of the elk I have captured.
The elk will have a better life now because they will no longer have to look for food to eat. The elk will be safe now. I will take care of them.
