Ideas • Forum or wiki for internal communications • Discussion comments allowed on database records • Use a tool to get feedback from users on ways ETDEWEB could be of greater benefit • Ability for users to suggest/upload new documents for inclusion in the database • Ways to suggest related/other information that might be of interest 12th INIS/ETDE JTC, 21-22 October 2009, Vienna, Austria

Next steps for ETDE (based on September ExCo discussions) • ETDE to focus on activities that draw in additional usage; broader coverage makes social networking a little more difficult to form communities • ETDEWEB widget implemented; will change its ‘look’ and location on ETDE page – wider, and at top of page • No full system developed for record input, but simple method for users to contact input centers with suggested database additions to be evaluated • Discussion items on records, ‘Hot docs’, and upgraded news items not supported at this time • Members were encouraged to promote ETDE/ETDEWEB on Facebook, etc.; add links and/or the search widget; referring sites important 12th INIS/ETDE JTC, 21-22 October 2009, Vienna, Austria
Discussion • Feedback on ideas • Sharing of successful applications in member countries • Other ideas ETDE and/or INIS should consider to better engage/build user communities? 12th INIS/ETDE JTC, 21-22 October 2009, Vienna, Austria
