Shakespearean languagethe sonnet Now old desire doth in his deathbed lie,And young affection gapes to be his heir; That fair for which love groaned for and would die, With tender Juliet matched, is now not fair. Now Romeo is beloved and loves again,Alike bewitchèd by the charm of looks; But to his foe supposed he must complain,And she steal love’s sweet bait from fearful hooks. Being held a foe, he may not have accessTo breathe such vows as lovers use to swear,And she as much in love, her means much lessTo meet her new belovèd anywhere; But passion lends them power, time means, to meet, Temp’ring extremities with extreme sweet.

Let’s practice with sonnet 116 Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark, Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
