Setting Up & using RM Easimaths click to continue
I have sent all class teachers an email from RM Easimaths inviting you to set up an account/password. 90% of RM Easimaths is teacher administered (as was RM Maths/Snapshot) it is very easy to do and can only be done by the class teacher, as you guys know your children and set the starting levels. I will show you over the following slides how to set up your account and then add the children to your given class. This will need to be done for every class you have, so in September you will need to create your new class. click to continue
Log into the school email system as usual – please raise an ICT request if you can’t remember or don’t know your address, it is usually: first initial.surname@wattvilleprimary.bham.sch.uk I have used Mrs Footes as an example…. Please be aware and understand that usernames and passwords are CaSe SenSITiVE – they have to enter the details as they are generated and cannot be changed. This is the way it is, it cannot be changed as the system is live and based on the world wide web. RM has to ensure that their data and systems are secure. This is simply an extra element of learning/understanding that our pupils/teachers must become used to, there is no way around it. click to continue
Pupil Card RM No: 14 Face Username: 07samiula Wattville Road, Handsworth, Birmingham B21 0DP Telephone : 0121 554 2768 Obviously the cost of reprinting all of the library cards in the school will be an epic task as well as costing a fortune in ink, paper, time and resources, so… click to continue It will be most cost effective and best practice to put a plain white sticker on their library card over the old RM number/WPS logo, and put their username and password on the sticker. All new cards made from this point on will be in this format. RM Easimaths Username: HeenaA68 Password: silver68 This is not Heena, this is merely an example….
As an extra thought, I daresay that you could set up your class into ability groups instead of a whole class, this might help target weak areas of learning or just make it easier to manage your results, this is something to think about over time. If you wish to set up a whole class group to start with as a way of just getting stuck in, great, you can easily change your groups and add and remove pupils as required by hitting either ‘Add group’ or the ‘Edit Group’ buttons. click to continue
Last but not least – have a look at the content of RMeasimaths Click on the ‘topic menu’ tab and click on the links within to have a look at the work. It’s excellent. click to continue
I hope that this training tool proves useful, if you have any feedback or spot any glaring errors, please fill out an ICT fault report telling me what is what. Please also note that when you have new children I will need their full correct details, making sure that the names are spelled correctly and that I have their date of birth. Can I please ask that all new pupil requests are in the following format and include an attached picture of the pupil from your new class camera – I don’t need a full body shot thank you, just a well focussed picture of their face. First name: Roger Second name: Mellie Date of birth: 01/08/2004 Example login: 08deanb Class: 7 Year: 3 Yes – great! NO! – HUH!?!?! click to finish
