QuickTool 24 Connect to the NMA Group on LinkedIn • SUMMARY: As part of the Strategic Response to establish a “culture of community”, a key initiative was completed which was to create a Virtual Meeting place for NMA Members to network, interact, develop professional relationships, and to increase member connections to the National Organization. A NMA Group was created on the professional network site, LinkedIn.com. All NMA members are invited to join the NMA Group. This is a great venue to stay “LinkedIn” and maintain lifelong relationships with other NMA members and to develop new ones. This is also a site to use to stay informed of upcoming NMA activities and events. • FUNDING: There are no costs associated with joining the NMA Group on LinkedIn. • REQUIREMENTS: Participants need to be members of NMA Chapters or are Individual Members. Virtual networking is an opportunity to get to know fellow NMA members from around the world, share best practices and ideas, ask for advice, or just socialize! Join with the NMA Staff, Executive Committee, Directors and the many other NMA members who have already begun to network on LinkedIn! • PROCESS: Here is how to join with LinkedIn and connect with the NMA Group: • Go to: www.linkedIn.com • Enter your first name, last name, email and password • You will receive confirmation email. • Click on confirmation link to confirm email address and confirm. • Enter password by creating your own and press “Join now”. • You may then click “continue” or skip the next 5 steps that ask for personal information. • To find the NMA group simply go to “Groups” and type in: NMA. • Once you see the NMA logo, simply select “Join this group”. • Rev 11-11
