Annotated Bibliography 2 paragraphs • Summarize the source: what does it say, who is it written by • Evaluate the source: Is/are the author(s) credible. This will be more important as you find your own
Annotated Bibliography example: 1. American Music Therapy Association, Inc., "Music Therapy." AMTA: Music Therapy. 2004. American Music Therapy Association. 4 Jan 2009 <http://www.musictherapy.org/>. The American Music Therapy website was used to answer simple questions about music therapy. Questions such as “What is music therapy?” Music therapy is use of music to help patients achieve goals. “Where is music therapy used?” Music therapy is used in schools, nursing homes, hospitals, psychiatric care facilities, and at private practices. “Who can benefit from music therapy?” All people with hearing can benefit from music therapy. It is proven most useful for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. All information taken from FAQ section. It was very useful and very clear. This website is a registered non-profit organization. Authors are medical doctors/therapists with music therapy specialties. All of the authors are affiliated with hospitals like Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and Children’s Hospital of Seattle. There are some articles that do not have authors but one can assume that they are written by professionals because the website is locked and does not accept outside contributors. It seems like many reputable organizations have contributed to this site therefore I believe it is very credible.
