What is EOPS • A state-funded program • AKA Extended Opportunity Programs and Services • Provides educational and financial support services to eligible students who have historically experienced economic and educational disadvantages. • Offering counseling, tutoring, financial assistance, and other support services designed to help students meet their personal and educational goals.

  3. How do I Qualify? • 1.-Be a California resident (AB 540 students eligible to apply) • 2.-Be enrolled as a full-time student (12 units or more) • 3.-Qualify to receive the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (method A, B, or 0-EFC) • 4.-Have earned fewer than 40 cumulative units with a minimum 2.0 GPA (including previous colleges attended) • 5.-Be at or below English 67/AMLA 43W ORMath 51 • 6.-Emancipated foster youth

How to Apply Download or pick-up EOPS/CARE checklist from the EOPS office Submit checklist with required documents to verify eligibility to the EOPS office Complete and submit EOPS Application Eligible students will receive an invitation to an EOPS Orientation Attend EOPS Orientation Register for 12 or more units (full-time) Welcome to the EOPS program! The EOPS program opens yearly to new applicants in the month of May for the fall semester. The CARE program accepts applications on an ongoing basis.

  5. EOPS Services • Priority registration • Counseling & Advisement • One-on-one tutoring (located in bldg. 6 rm. 108) • Textbook services (based on available funding) • Application fee waiver for UC, CSU, and private universities • Graduation cap and gown

  6. Student Responsibilities 1.Complete an EOPS Orientation. 2.Meet with an EOPS counselor at least twice a semester. 3.Complete and submit a Progress Report within specified deadline. 4.Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress. 5.Comply with all aspects of the EOPS Mutual Responsibility Contract.

Care Resources • Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education • To be eligible for CARE, a student must: • Be a single parent/head of household • TANF/CalWORKs assistance • Be 18 years or older • Have a child age 13 years and younger • CARE Services • Academic, Personal & Career Counseling • Educational Planning • One-on-one tutoring (located in bldg. 6 rm. 108) • Support Groups (self-esteem, parenting, time management, etc.) • Textbooks and School Supplies • Grants
