The first residents of North America came from Asia 20 000 years ago and they lived in a wide range of enviroments- for example forests,grass plains,desert regions and even the North of Arctic • They got through into the inland for the sake hunting of wild animals • They separated into various tribes • In 15th century the first Europeans named the original people of North America by mistake ,,Indians´´,because they meant that are in Asian India • They directed various fights against Europeans for one´s area • Little Big Horn was the most famous fight
The mostfamous tribes of Native Americans • Sioux,Comanche,Cheyenne lived in a big prairies • Apaches,Navaho,Pueblas lived on south-west • Cherokee,Huron,Iroquis lived on east
Manner of life Native Americans • Native Americans hunted wild animals-for example bisons • They used skin of bisons on clothing and tents(tepee),bones and horns of bisons on tools and meat as a food • The tents had diameter 6 metre • They grew vegetables • They used lances,bows,axes,knifes,waddys and tomahawks as a weapons • In 16th century Native Americans bought rifles from Europeans
Native Americans were skilful and very good craftsmans • They made ceramic,colourful clothing and musical instruments • Women played important role in life of tribe: They prepared food,made clothes and brought up children
American Natives lived in a harmony with nature and therefore are example for us • They believed in ,,Big Spirit´´ • Spirituality was for them the most important • They believed in various supernatural phenomena • They think it a dreams and premonitions for messages from supernatural being • Pow How were various celebrations full of various rituals,religious ceremonies,dances and singing • They live in natural reserves today
